Cat Grass Grow Kit Planting Instructions

Having a successful crop of cat grass isn’t difficult.  It’s a pretty forgiving process so don’t worry too much if you don’t follow this exactly.

Here are our official, recommended instructions for planting cat grass using the supplies in our Cat Grass Grow Kit.  This will work with you own supplies too – with some improvising.

  1. Add 1/2 cup of water to a small bowl.  You can add another 1/4 cut later if your soil is not completely wet after all of the water is soaked up.
  2. Optional – Add 1 Tablespoon of Pet Grass Growth Booster to the water to provide your seedlings with some additional nutrients.
  3. Add 1 soil disk to an empty planter.  Place the planter into the bowl of water until the water is absorbed and the soil is moist.
  4. Use a fork to mix the soil, then transfer 80% of the soil into a new planter.  Set the remaining soil aside.
  5. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of Cat Grass Seeds evenly across the surface of the soil and cover with the remaining soil.
  6. Place the planter near a window or other light source, but out of direct sunlight.
  7. Water every 1-2 days to keep the soil moist, but not soggy.  In the first few days, don’t let the surface get too dry.  Later in the plant lifecycle, the deep soil will help keep the grass hydrated.
  8. You will see sprouts in about 3 days, and the grass should be “ready for grazing” in 5-7 days when it is about 3″ tall.

Your cat will appreciate your effort.
